How to acquire records at USPC meets
State and National records may be set at any USPC sanctioned meet.
- Any new records set must exceed the previous record amount by at least 1kg.
- There must be three USPC certified State level or higher Judges judging any State record attempts, and at least two National or International Judges judging any National record attempts, and either three International, or two International and one National Judge judging any World Record attempts.
- Lifters may only set records in the division(s) they have entered the meet in prior to the end of the last weigh in session.
- The lifter is responsible for declaring their record attempt BEFORE coming to the platform.
- If two lifters in the same flight both set the same new record, registering the same weight lifted, the lifter with the lower body weight will be recognized as the official record holder. If both lifters are the exact same body weight, then the lifter who lifted first will be recognized as the official record holder.
- The requirements for a lifter to request a fourth attempt are:
- They must have been successful on their third attempt.
- Be within 20 kilos of the current record. Their fourth attempt must exceed the current record by at least 1kg.
- Report their attempt within 60 seconds from when they completed their 3rd attempt.
- 4th attempts do not count in the lifter's total. They are for record keeping purposes only.
- The Meet Director reserves the right to not offer 4th attempts if announced prior to the start of lifting.
